Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Group Leader to inspire and guide teams in delivering exceptional youth programs and activities. This energetic role involves overseeing group operations, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for children and youth, and fostering positive development through creative activities. Duties

• Lead and supervise groups of children or youth during various activities, ensuring safety and engagement at all times
• Manage classroom or activity space effectively through excellent classroom management techniques
• Implement behavior management strategies to foster positive interactions and discipline when necessary
• Facilitate age-appropriate youth group activities, including games, arts and crafts, outdoor adventures, and educational sessions
• Ensure adherence to first aid protocols by providing immediate assistance in case of minor injuries; operate AED (Automated External Defibrillator) equipment when needed
• Maintain a safe environment by following all health and safety guidelines, including CPR certification requirements
• Collaborate with team members to plan, organize, and execute special events or themed programs aligned with youth development goals
• Support children’s emotional well-being through Christian counseling principles or other supportive approaches as appropriate
• Document attendance, incident reports, and activity feedback accurately for program evaluation purposes
• Assist with outdoor work when necessary, including supervising outdoor play areas and ensuring safety protocols are followed

Qualifications

• Proven experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings
• Strong classroom management skills coupled with behavior management expertise
• Certification in First Aid, CPR, AED operation, and familiarity with first aid protocols; additional certifications in special education or childhood development are a plus
• Experience facilitating youth group activities or similar programs such as theater, tutoring, babysitting, or youth development initiatives
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively while maintaining a positive and energetic attitude
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices for working with young children of diverse backgrounds
• Outdoor work experience preferred for supervising outdoor activities safely
• Excellent communication skills to engage children positively and collaborate with team members effectively
